"Following my Playwrights Encouragement Award in 2006, the play was performed at Wollongong Workshop Theatre (WWT) where I was approached by a director to write a full length play which will be performed at WWT in July 2008. A Queensland company has been perusing my scripts which they found on your data base. I am very grateful for the opportunities your Festival has provided to me."

Peter Bloem

"The Festival was a great experience and a unique opportunity to win recognition for all the hard work that goes into producing a play. Especially exciting was the recognition given to Bronwyn Belcher the young actress who took out the Best Supporting Actress Award. Theatre lovers will have another opportunity to see Blue Italian at the Street Theatre Nov 12 - 15 as part of the Bill of Writes program."

Katie Pollock, author and director of Blue Italian (won best supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Production in the Drama Category)

"We are stoked we won so many awards. The Festival not only showcases original Australian works, but encourages all members of the theatre community to demonstrate excellence in amateur theatre. It is of great benefit to the audience members as well as those involved in performances."

Sam Floyd, author, director and actor The Disclaimer (won Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Script, Best Production in the Comedy Category)

" The Festival offers writers, directors and actors the opportunity to take chances, to experiment, to break the rules and produce innovative theatre in a supportive environment. Amateur theatre of this standard is a breeding ground for anyone in the industry who is going anywhere."

Rachel Hogan, author and director of The Prince - An Audience with Machiavelli (won Best Actor and Best Original Script Drama Category)

"The health of the community is reflected in the vigorousness of its arts community. The Canberra Festival of One Act Plays is a wonderful opportunity to meet and be inspired by other companies bringing in brand new bodies of work or interpretations of long standing favourites. I am proud to be part of it"

Peter Fock, winner of the Best Actor Award as Machiavelli
